Service Technician                                                                    

Job Function:

Requires some supervision and/or direction. Must meet the requirements of Trainee and Apprentice. Must be able to test for proper operation, using basic test equipment and procedures, the appropriate systems on the machines of the Technician’s speciality, Must be able to perform most component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning, following Technical Manual procedures, on machines of the Technician’s specialty. Must be able to properly and safely operate all machines of the Technician’s specialty.

Responsibilities:

• Develop skills in disassembly, assembly, and repair of components and machines.
• Perform basic testing on all machine systems.
• Develop diagnostic skills on all machine systems.
• Perform all service tasks as assigned by the Service Manager or Service Department Foreman.
• Report any additional work required on machines to the Service Manager, for proper and safe operation by the customer.
• Participate in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
• Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly manner.
• Maintain and care for Department tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Conduct self in the presence of customers so as to present a professional image of the Dealership.
•  Perform all other service tasks as directed by the Service Management System.
